Dixon Technologies Subsidiary Patners with Aviat to Manufacture Microwave Radios
Dixon Electro Appliances, a subsidiary of Dixon Technologies, has signed an IP licensing agreement with Aviat Networks India to manufacture and sell microwave radios, strengthening India's domestic telecom infrastructure manufacturing ecosystem.

Dixon Technologies is expanding its presence in telecom infrastructure manufacturing after its subsidiary, Dixon Electro Appliances Private Limited (DEAPL), signed an intellectual property licensing agreement with Aviat Networks India to manufacture and sell microwave radios.
Under the agreement, Aviat has granted DEAPL a limited license to use specified intellectual property, including technical know-how, solely for the manufacture, use, offer for sale and sale of microwave radios, according to Dixon's regulatory filing.
Expanding India's Microwave Manufacturing Capabilities
Aviat Networks is a global provider of wireless transport solutions and has deployed more than 1 million systems worldwide. The company works with telecommunications operators as well as private network operators, utilities, government and defence organisations.
The licensing agreement brings Aviat's technology and know-how together with Dixon's growing electronics manufacturing capabilities in India.
For Dixon, the partnership represents another step in its strategy to expand its manufacturing footprint into critical telecom infrastructure, beyond its established presence in electronics manufacturing.
Commenting on the development, Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Dixon Technologies, said the collaboration marks a significant milestone in DEAPL's strategy to expand its manufacturing footprint.
He also highlighted Dixon's focus on strengthening manufacturing capabilities in India and supporting the development of a robust domestic supply chain for critical telecom infrastructure.
Why Microwave Radios Matter
Microwave radios continue to play an important role in wireless transport networks, providing high-capacity connectivity between network locations and supporting telecom infrastructure where fibre deployment may not always be practical.
The manufacturing of microwave radio equipment in India can therefore contribute to the development of a stronger domestic ecosystem spanning RF, microwave electronics, telecom equipment and network infrastructure.
The Dixon–Aviat agreement is also an example of how partnerships between global technology companies and Indian electronics manufacturers can combine established technology with local manufacturing capabilities.
As India continues to strengthen its domestic electronics and telecom supply chains, such collaborations could become increasingly important in bringing sophisticated networking equipment into local manufacturing.
For India's RF & Microwave Community
For RF and microwave engineers, the development is particularly relevant because microwave radio systems bring together RF front ends, high-frequency electronics, antennas, digital communications and wireless transport technologies.
Dixon's entry into microwave radio manufacturing adds another major Indian electronics manufacturer to an area that is strategically important for telecom infrastructure.
India's telecom manufacturing ecosystem is gradually moving beyond assembly toward greater local manufacturing, technology transfer and value addition — and this partnership is another step in that direction.
