India Mobile Congress 2026 Begins Today: 6G, Semiconductors, Satcom and AI Take Center Stage
India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 begins today at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, bringing together more than 150,000 attendees and 300+ exhibitors and partners, with 6G, semiconductors, satellite communications, AI-native telecom and next-generation connectivity among the major technology themes.

India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 begins today, October 7, at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, bringing together the telecom and technology ecosystem for four days of discussions and demonstrations around the future of connectivity.
The tenth edition of IMC will run from October 7–10, 2026, and is jointly organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
This year's edition carries the theme “Scale Without Boundaries” and is expected to bring together more than 150,000 attendees, 300+ exhibitors and partners, and delegations from over 100 countries.
Around 1,500 technology use cases are expected to be showcased across the event, spanning telecom operators, technology companies, infrastructure providers, startups, academia and policymakers.
For RF and wireless engineers, one of the most interesting parts of IMC 2026 will be the focus on 6G, intelligent RAN, AI-native telecom, edge and cloud computing, autonomous networks, semiconductors and AI chipsets.
The event will also cover the commercialization of 5G, satellite communications, Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity, digital infrastructure, network APIs and next-generation telecom manufacturing.
6G and Satcom will have a particularly strong presence at IMC 2026. The event includes the third International Bharat 6G Symposium, covering 6G foundations, global IMT-2030 standards, spectrum requirements and preparations for WRC-27.
A dedicated Satcom Summit will also explore satellite communications policy and business models, alongside discussions around quantum communications, cybersecurity and smart mobility.
The event comes as India's 5G deployment continues to scale. According to the information shared around IMC 2026, roughly 500 million people have been connected to 5G services within two-and-a-half years of rollout, supported by cumulative investment of around ₹4.5 lakh crore and close to 500,000 telecom towers nationwide.
The government has set a target of extending 5G access to 1 billion people by 2030. For India's budding RF and semiconductor ecosystem, IMC is increasingly becoming more than a telecom conference. The growing emphasis on 6G, RF infrastructure, satellite communications, semiconductor manufacturing, chipsets and advanced wireless systems creates an important platform for Indian companies developing the RF hardware behind next-generation connectivity.
From RF front-end components and phased arrays to GaN power amplifiers, beamforming ICs, mmWave systems and satellite RF technologies, many of the technologies being developed by India's emerging RF industry sit directly behind the themes being discussed at IMC 2026.
Which Indian RF, semiconductor and Satcom companies are you most excited to see at India Mobile Congress 2026?
