Lotus Microwave Technologies to Supply Indigenous Radar Front-End Modules to Indian Navy
Lotus Microwave Technologies says it is developing indigenous radar front-end modules to replace imported units in Indian Navy systems, strengthening domestic RF and microwave capabilities.

India's Lotus Microwave Technologies has announced that it is developing indigenous Radar Front-End Modules for the Indian Navy, replacing foreign-sourced modules as part of the country's ongoing defence indigenisation efforts.
The company recently hosted Commodore Sarvesh C. Sharma, Officer-in-Charge of the Material Modernisation Team (MMT) of the Eastern Naval Command, for a project review of the radar front-end modules currently under development.
According to Lotus Microwave, the locally developed modules are intended to replace imported radar hardware, helping extend the operational life of existing naval systems while providing domestic technical support, maintenance and integration capabilities.
The company also stated that the project establishes Lotus Microwave as a direct supplier and integrator of radar front-end modules to the Indian Navy, marking an important development in its defence electronics business.
For RF and microwave engineers, radar front-end modules are critical building blocks in radar systems, involving technologies such as RF amplification, filtering, frequency conversion, receiver sensitivity and signal-chain integration.
Developing these modules domestically can strengthen India's capabilities in RF hardware design, validation, testing and system-level integration.
As India continues working toward greater self-reliance in defence electronics, companies developing indigenous RF, microwave and radar subsystems could play an increasingly important role in reducing dependence on imported components and improving long-term support for strategic systems.
What do you think of Indian RF companies replacing imported radar modules with locally developed solutions for the Indian Navy?
