Pune-based space technology company NIBE Space is hiring an RF System Engineer to support the development of its planned multi-sensor Earth observation satellite constellation.

The opportunity was shared by Jayasheel Siram, Lead Mission Design Engineer at NIBE Space, who highlighted the company's requirement for an engineer capable of handling RF communication links between Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and ground stations.

The position focuses on satellite communication systems, including RF link-budget analysis, ground-station RF systems, vendor coordination, and optimization of satellite downlink performance.

RF link-budget engineering is particularly important for LEO satellite missions, where communication performance depends on parameters such as operating frequency, transmitter power, antenna gain, free-space path loss, receiver sensitivity, atmospheric attenuation, and available link margin.

Engineers working on satellite-to-ground communication systems must also consider changing satellite geometry, Doppler shift, ground-station visibility windows, and the trade-offs between data rate, bandwidth, and link reliability.

NIBE Space is developing a private multi-sensor Earth observation satellite constellation. Such systems can combine different observation technologies to collect complementary information about Earth's surface and environment.

The advertised role offers RF engineers an opportunity to contribute to the communications infrastructure required to operate LEO satellites and deliver mission data to ground-based systems.

Responsibilities highlighted in the announcement: RF link budgets, ground-station RF systems, vendor coordination, and satellite downlink performance optimization.

Interested candidates were invited to share their CV or contact Jayasheel Siram directly through LinkedIn.

The announcement does not specify an experience requirement, salary range, or application deadline. Applicants should confirm that the position remains open before applying.
