Sukshma Vision has announced the completion of its in-house design and fabrication of an S-band, two-port, linearly polarized antenna feed intended for Doppler Weather Radar (DWR) applications.

The company shared images of the fabricated RF assembly and confirmed that the hardware is ready to undergo testing. The development represents progress in its antenna engineering and microwave hardware capabilities.

S-band radar systems typically operate within the 2–4 GHz frequency range and are widely used in weather surveillance because of their ability to detect precipitation over long distances with relatively low atmospheric attenuation.

A radar antenna feed plays an important role in illuminating the reflector and determining the overall antenna system's radiation characteristics. Parameters such as impedance matching, return loss, isolation, radiation pattern, and polarization performance are important considerations during development and validation.

Sukshma Vision's two-port feed has been designed for linear polarization. However, the company has not yet disclosed detailed specifications, measured RF performance, or the results of antenna characterization.

The company stated that testing results will be shared subsequently.

The development highlights ongoing efforts to design and fabricate specialized microwave hardware for radar applications.
