Bengaluru-based AGNIT Semiconductors participated in the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA) Bharat Deep-tech Roundtable, joining deep-tech founders, investors and policymakers to discuss policy interventions needed to strengthen India's technology ecosystem.

The closed-door roundtable was chaired by Priyank Kharge, Karnataka's Minister for IT/BT and E-Governance, and Sharat Kumar Bache Gowda, MLA and Chairman of KEONICS.

The discussions focused on identifying policy measures that could accelerate the growth of India's deep-tech industry and help domestic companies develop globally competitive technologies.

For semiconductor startups, policy support is particularly important because developing new chip technologies requires substantial investment in research and development, semiconductor design, fabrication access, testing infrastructure and product commercialization.

AGNIT Semiconductors is among India's emerging companies developing Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor technologies, with applications spanning high-power RF electronics, defence, telecommunications and other advanced electronic systems.

Unlike software startups, semiconductor companies often face longer product development cycles, higher capital requirements and extensive validation processes before products reach commercial deployment.

Initiatives that bring together semiconductor founders, investors and government policymakers can help address these challenges and strengthen India's domestic semiconductor ecosystem.
