India's Aracion Technology showcased its Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) facility at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, highlighting its capabilities in over-the-air (OTA) testing for next-generation wireless and satellite communications systems.
During the exhibition, Dr. Chandrasekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Communications, visited the company's booth and was introduced to its CATR testing infrastructure.
A Compact Antenna Test Range uses reflector-based techniques to generate a controlled test environment for evaluating antenna and wireless system performance without requiring a conventional large far-field measurement range.
Such facilities are particularly important for 5G, 6G, mmWave, phased-array antennas, Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) and satellite communications, where accurate radiated measurements are essential.
For RF engineers, OTA testing enables the characterization of parameters such as antenna gain, radiation patterns, beamforming performance, effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) and total radiated power (TRP), depending on the device and applicable test standard.
Aracion's participation at IMC 2026 highlights India's growing focus on developing domestic RF and antenna testing infrastructure capable of supporting both Indian and international telecom equipment manufacturers.
