IndieSemiC Highlights ISC-nRF52840-A Bluetooth LE Module for Smart Building and HVAC Applications

IndieSemiC has highlighted its ISC-nRF52840-A Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module as a wireless connectivity solution for smart-building and HVAC applications.

The company is targeting developers building occupancy-aware cooling systems, connected sensor nodes, and building automation products that require reliable wireless communication and low power consumption.

Traditional HVAC systems primarily regulate temperature based on predefined settings or environmental measurements. Occupancy-aware systems can additionally use information from wireless sensors to adjust cooling and ventilation based on the presence of people.

Such applications require sensor nodes capable of communicating occupancy information to a building management system while maintaining low power consumption and compact hardware dimensions.

IndieSemiC's ISC-nRF52840-A module uses technology from Nordic Semiconductor and provides Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity for embedded wireless applications.

The module can serve as a connectivity building block for occupancy sensors and related smart-building devices. Developers must still integrate suitable sensing hardware, firmware, and building management interfaces to implement a complete occupancy-aware HVAC solution.
