India's PierSight Conducts Antenna Testing for Varuna 2.0 and Vidura Space Systems
Indian space technology company PierSight has shared an update on antenna testing activities for its Varuna 2.0 and Vidura programmes, highlighting ongoing RF engineering and validation work.

Indian space technology company PierSight has announced ongoing antenna testing activities for its Varuna 2.0 and Vidura programmes, highlighting the importance of RF hardware validation in advanced space systems.
The company shared images of antenna testing inside an RF anechoic chamber, where radio-frequency absorbing materials help reduce unwanted reflections during measurements.
Anechoic chambers are widely used to characterize antennas and RF systems under controlled electromagnetic conditions. Depending on the test setup, engineers can evaluate parameters such as antenna gain, radiation patterns, polarization, impedance matching, and operating bandwidth.
For satellite and radar applications, antenna performance is particularly important because it directly affects RF link budgets, signal quality, beam characteristics, and overall system performance.
PierSight is developing space-based sensing technologies, including applications involving Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
The company's testing update highlights the engineering work required to validate antenna hardware before integration into larger systems. However, the announcement does not provide operating frequencies, measured antenna performance, or programme completion dates.
