Qualcomm Technologies is preparing to bring its Wi-Fi 8 products to market beginning in late 2026, with additional introductions expected through 2027 and 2028, according to an interview published by ET Telecom.

Gautam Sheoran, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Connectivity, Broadband and Network at Qualcomm Technologies, said the company had announced a suite of Wi-Fi 8 products earlier in 2026 and expected commercialization to begin later in the year.

Wi-Fi 8 is associated with the next generation of IEEE 802.11 wireless networking technology, commonly referred to as **IEEE 802.11bn**.

Its development places greater emphasis on reliable wireless performance, particularly in challenging and congested environments.

Unlike earlier Wi-Fi generations that prominently emphasized higher peak data rates, Wi-Fi 8 development focuses on improving real-world connectivity, including network reliability, interference handling, and consistent performance across connected devices.

For RF and wireless engineers, this evolution creates technical challenges involving RF front-end design, multi-antenna systems, coexistence, receiver sensitivity, interference mitigation, and wireless validation.

Qualcomm's planned rollout could support the development of next-generation connectivity products for smartphones, networking equipment, enterprise systems, and other connected devices.

However, the source does not specify the commercial availability dates or specifications of individual Wi-Fi 8 chipsets.
