Spintronics AI Advances Plans for GaN Semiconductor Fabrication Facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh
Spintronics AI Semiconductors is evaluating a semiconductor design centre and a proposed Gallium Nitride (GaN) fabrication facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with the potential to generate 3,800 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Hyderabad's Spintronics AI Semiconductors has announced progress toward establishing a semiconductor design centre and evaluating the feasibility of a proposed Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor fabrication facility in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
The company shared that it is exploring a phased investment in semiconductor manufacturing following discussions with the Government of Madhya Pradesh and a site visit to Vikram Udyogapuri, an industrial development area in Ujjain.
According to Spintronics AI, the proposed semiconductor project has the potential to generate approximately 1,000 direct and 2,800 indirect employment opportunities, supporting the development of a semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in the region.
Gallium Nitride is an important wide-bandgap semiconductor material used in applications requiring high power density, high efficiency, and high-frequency operation. GaN technology is particularly relevant to RF power amplifiers, radar systems, satellite communications, telecommunications infrastructure, and power electronics.
For India's RF and microwave industry, the development of domestic GaN semiconductor manufacturing capabilities could strengthen access to technologies used in defence electronics, aerospace systems, and advanced wireless infrastructure.
Beyond semiconductor manufacturing, Spintronics AI has outlined its ambition to establish a broader GaN semiconductor ecosystem involving startups, research institutions, technology companies, and industry partners.
The company acknowledged the support of the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav as it continues evaluating the proposed investment.
The project remains in the planning and feasibility-assessment stage. The company has not confirmed a final investment amount, construction timeline, production capacity, or commercial manufacturing date in the announcement.
