Bengaluru's WaveOptix Defence Solutions has received the Outstanding Partner Award 2026 from QPC Fiber Optic, recognizing its business relationship with the fiber-optic connectivity company.

The recognition was announced by Mukilan Rajamani, Co-founder of WaveOptix Defence Solutions, through LinkedIn. According to the announcement, WaveOptix and QPC Fiber Optic established an exclusive partnership for the Indian market.

The relationship focuses on rugged fiber-optic connectivity components used in WaveOptix products. Rugged fiber-optic connectors are important in electronic systems designed for demanding operational environments.

Unlike conventional office or data-center connections, defence and industrial applications may require connectors capable of withstanding mechanical vibration, repeated handling, environmental exposure, and other operational stresses.

Fiber-optic connectivity is relevant to systems requiring high-bandwidth data transmission, electrical isolation, and resistance to electromagnetic interference. These characteristics make optical communication technologies useful in several defence, aerospace, industrial, and communication applications.

For RF and microwave engineers, fiber-optic technologies are also relevant to RF-over-Fiber systems, where radio-frequency signals are transported using optical links. Such architectures can support applications requiring signal distribution between antennas, remote equipment, and centralized processing systems.

According to Mukilan Rajamani, the companies initially focused on technical requirements, product specifications, and potential design opportunities before developing their commercial relationship.

Representatives Steve Wilkes and Thomas J. from QPC Fiber Optic visited the WaveOptix team in Bengaluru. During the visit, they presented WaveOptix with the Outstanding Partner Award 2026.

WaveOptix described the recognition as an achievement shared by its wider team. The company also highlighted its intention to expand design opportunities and support QPC Fiber Optic's presence in the Indian market.

The announcement reflects the role of international component partnerships in supporting India's defence electronics and advanced connectivity ecosystem.
